Electromagnetic Spectrum and Spectroscope Lab

We discussed the quia quiz and reviewed subatomic particles and reading a periodic table.  Make sure you complete the quiz by Wednesday, September 25 at 11:59 pm.

We took notes on the electromagnetic spectrum and looked at a lightbulb through a diffraction grating.  For more detailed information about diffraction gratings, click here. We then looked at a number of light sources (hydrogen, helium, sodium, and mercury) through the spectroscopes.

Using the known spectral data, astronomers can identify the elements that are present in stars.
